Testing for accessibility

Definition of Done for a Tester:

  • Run automated accessibility tests and resolve any critical issues.

  • Perform manual checks for usability with assistive technologies (screen readers, magnifiers, speech recognition).

  • Verify all interactive elements (e.g., forms, buttons) are fully keyboard accessible.

  • Check that content is presented clearly, with correct semantic structure (headings, links, etc.).

  • Ensure that error messages and notifications are accessible and provide clear guidance.

  • Confirm the product is usable for people with disabilities in real-world scenarios.

  • Log and track any accessibility issues for resolution before the product is signed off.
